Story Horse is a coffee shop in Tulum, named after the Irish expression “What’s the story, horse?” a friendly and informal way of asking, “How have you been?”
Mexico City-based graphic and type designer Andrés Higueros reimagined the Story Horse brand with a custom logo and packaging design that captures the coffee shop’s relaxed, fun, and distinctive spirit.
Embodying the essence of the Irish expression, the brand comes to life through a coffee-obsessed horse with a passion for storytelling, reflecting the diverse stories that could unfold in Tulum. The logo features custom typography that aligns with the brand’s illustration style, creating a dynamic logotype that represents the brand’s playful personality.
The packaging design prioritises cost-effectiveness and ease of application, using stickers that add a pop of colour and a playful aesthetic while being simple to replicate. This approach embraces the human and artisanal elements of the coffee-making process, resulting in unique packaging designs.
